ACO is the practice of optimizing product content so AI shopping agents — like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI — can find, understand, and recommend your products. Just as SEO optimized content for search engine crawlers, ACO optimizes product data for AI agent scoring systems. The agents evaluate dozens of signals per product query. ACO makes sure your products answer every signal with a distinct, accurate sentence.

How is ACO different from SEO and GEO?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) targets Google rankings for human searchers. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) targets AI answer engines so your content gets cited. ACO (Agentic Commerce Optimization) targets AI purchasing agents that autonomously research, compare, and complete transactions on behalf of users. The channel is different.
